(Seattle, WA) – Ten students from two local high schools will help celebrate the beginning of a five-month, intensive entrepreneurial program. The program is offered by Incipio, a local nonprofit focused on helping youth promote unique business ideas. The celebratory program kickoff will be hosted by Golf Savings Bank on January 29, from 6-7:30 p.m.
One of the most important aspects of Incipio’s program is it provides youth who might not otherwise have the knowledge or means to start a business with the opportunity to do so. “This program is about giving all youth an opportunity,” said Michael Trotter, Incipio founder. “The students in our program can gain the skills and resources they need to start their own businesses and become successful community leaders.”
The program classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday, from February 2 to June 28, 2010. Participants are eager to begin their classes. “I am excited about the prospect of being selected for the Incipio Program because I love doing hair,” said Jamerah Ezell-Ray, a Garfield High School senior. “I would like to start and open a hair salon…my salon would help people to have beautiful hair.”
